Fall Faculty Reading at Café Paradiso, Thursday Nov. 21
On Thursday, November 21st, M.U.M.’s department of English will host a Fall Faculty Reading at Café Paradiso from 8 PM to 10 PM. Participating poets and writers will be Rustin Larson, author of Pavement and Library Rain; Sasha Parmasad, author of No Poem; Leah Waller, author of Under the Cedar Tree; Stuart Tanner, former BBC documentary film maker and speculative fiction writer; Craig Deininger, co-author of Leaves from the World Tree; Terry Fairchild, department co-chair, literature faculty, and fiction writer; Dylene Cymraes, author of Moving Home; plus Ben McClendon, who has been published in Rattle, among other places; and Nynke Passi, who has been published in CALYX and Carrying the Branch, among other places. As a department, we want to showcase some new work and invite the community to enjoy the warmth and creativity of our inclusive, close-knit literary family!
Our English dept. offers a BA and BFA in Creative Writing, plus a minor in Literature. In August, 2020, we will launch a new low-residency MFA in Creative Writing directed by Nynke Passi.
The reading starts at 8 PM and is free of charge. In support of the venue, we kindly suggest a donation of $10 or ask that you order delicious drinks and refreshments during the event.
